Dear Friends,
On behalf of the Georgian Association in the United States, we ask you to support our fund raising efforts that will enable us to continue to provide valuable services and timely information to further the best interests of Georgians and friends of Georgian in the United States.
The recent events have greatly increased awareness of Georgia in the United States, and the post-conflict issues are receiving significant attention from the United States Congress, the press, and the general public. As a result, we are faced with new challenges, but more importantly, the opportunity to elevate the Georgian Association's advocacy work. Seizing this opportunity will require ongoing human and financial resources, which can be only achieved with a dedicated leadership team and an active membership community. We assure you that we are fully dedicated to this cause, and we have the full support of the board. And given the response of the community in the aftermath of the Russian conflict, we certainly have an engaged and motivated membership base.
The Georgian Association is poised to be a strong advocate of Georgian interests to the US Government. We gave voice to outrage and dismay of Georgian community in the aftermath of the Russian invasion by informing US Congressional leaders and Administration policy makers of Georgia's plight, and organizing multiple protests at the Russian Embassy in Washington and the White House and across the country. Furthermore, we held multiple interviews with the press, and served as a source of vital information to the media and international organizations regarding the humanitarian situation immediately following the crisis.
The Association's dedication and professionalism in responding to recent events demonstrates that we can effectively champion the Georgian cause in America. Our work in the following core areas will only progress with dedicated financial resources:
Elevate the Georgian cause on Capitol Hill and the Administration.
Provide timely and relevant information to the Georgian community and the international media
Sponsor cultural exhibitions, shows and other events to celebrate Georgia.
To ensure that the Association seizes this opportunity to become the advocate Georgia needs in the United States, we require your support. Any amount will be helpful, and you can be confident your funds will go directly to support the services and programs that fulfill the Association's mission.
The Georgian Association is the only national representative of Georgian-Americans; our work is vital to protect the interests of our compatriots, and to support an independent, democratic and prosperous Georgia. The post conflict issues will not go away soon, and the Association must play its role to ensure that best interests of the Georgian community are adequately represented in the United States.
